Lot 324 Springfield Armory 1911-A1 .45 ACP #N358432
Brazillian made modern single-action semi-automatic 1911 style pistol chambered for .45 Automatic Colt Pistol, manufactured circa 1997 (date marked on box). Imported by Springfield Armory out of Geneseo, IL. The Springfield 1911s are manufactured by IMBEL (Industriade Material Belico do Brazil) out of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The IMBEL 973 was introduced in July, 1975, a very good 1911 style pistol chambered in 9x19mm. IMBEL already existed in the form of the Brazilian Army’s Fábrica de Itajubá (Itajubá Factory, FI), in Minas Gerais State. This full-sized 1911 features a stainless steel finish with polished flats and matte contours, 5" barrel, fixed blade front sight with white dot (painted), dovetailed notched rear sight with green dots (painted), short single-piece metal guide rod, checkered recoil spring plug, skeletonized hammer with serrated spur, skeletonized serrated curved adjustable trigger, serrated push-button magazine release, serrated frame mounted manual safety, beveled magazine well, smooth front strap, checkered flat mainspring housing, smooth extended beavertail grip safety, rasised and flared ejection port, slanted rear slide serrations, and Hogue black rubber textured and finger grooved wrap-around grips. The original stainless steel finish retained is approximately 96% with many light scattered scratches mostly on the frame. Metal displays no deformation, but the trigger shows corrosion wth a greyed-out look to it. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and the rubber grips also look excellent. The action is smooth and crisp. Pistol includes original blue factory hard case.
